What is the difference between home care and a care home?
Home care brings support to your relative in their own home, so familiar surroundings, routines and neighbours stay part of daily life. A care home means relocating to a residential setting. Many families choose home care precisely because it preserves independence and continuity.
What services are included in home care?
Ours covers personal assistance such as bathing, dressing and grooming; companionship and social support; care coordination including housekeeping, meal preparation and medication reminders; and transportation to appointments and errands. Care plans are built around the individual rather than sold as fixed packages.
How many hours of care will we need?
It depends entirely on the person. Some clients need a couple of hours a week for company and errands; others need daily support or overnight reassurance. We will talk through the routine with you and suggest a starting point, then adjust once we see how it works in practice.
How do you match a caregiver to my relative?
We consider practical needs first, then temperament, interests and any preferences your relative has — including caregiver gender, which matters to many people receiving personal care. If a match is not working, tell us and we will change it. That is a normal request, not a complaint.
How do we get started with home care?
